How to Play Craps

The game of craps is played on an elongated, specially topped table that has high sides. Two identical markings for bets are on the table so that the players can sit on both sides of the table in craps. These betting areas are divided at the centre by another betting known as “proposition bets”. Around the table there are 3 dealers, two of them take the bets, and the third called “stickman” handles the dice and manages the game speed. The fourth person stands near the table, he is called a “boxman” and supervises the game.

Any quantity of players can play craps. Each player puts his own bet against the house only. The players do not play with each other. The shooter throws the dice. Every player can be the shooter when his turn is coming. The turns go clockwise. The shooter rolls the dice till he loses. The rules require the dice to be rolled along the table, it must hit the opposite wall. If the dice are rolled out of the table or land on the chips, the throw is nullified and must be done again. The dice are managed by the shooter and also the stickman. Over 30 bets can be made for the throw outcome (the combined amount of the 2 dice), and against or for the shooter. The payout differs for every number.

The shooter starts a new game round with a come-out roll. The amount of his dice determines his “point”. Throwing the next roll, he has to get the same point before he rolls a 7. A point can be established if only the player rolls from 4 to 10 on the come-out. When the shooter throws 2, 3 or 12 called “craps”, then the round is lost automatically. If the point of the dice in the come-out is 7 or 11 (called a “natural”), the shooter wins. If they have establish a point in the come-out roll, then the shooter has to roll till he rolls the same point that wins the round, or till he has a 7 that is an automatic loss, it is known as a “seven out”. Every other thrown number is known as “waiting”, they do not bring victory or lost in the round.
